On October 18, ICExH project together with the representatives of MOD RT and Tajikistan Border troops hosted a visit of CAPSTONE delegation from US Army to REHTC/Chimteppa. The review meeting was opened by major General Miravarov from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan and Deputy commander of the Tajik Border troops Mr. Nosirzoda, followed by the short presentations on the OSCE activities and a tour inside the REHTC, which coincided with practical demonstrations on technical studies of the contaminated area and the movement of explosives.
On October 8, 2019 a group of twenty-one Permanent Representatives to the OSCE visited an exhibition organized by the ICexH programme team and the OSCE Border unit at Regional Explosive Hazards training centre of MOD RT in Chimteppa Regiment.
High-level representatives from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defence, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the United States Embassy participated in the official inauguration of a Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defence on 6 August 2019 in Dushanbe.
The establishment of the Centre was initiated under the Memorandum of Understanding between the OSCE extra-budgetary project “Integrated Co-operation on Explosive Hazards Programme” and the Defence Ministry signed in November 2017.
A five day Regional Course Training of Trainers for Explosive Ordnance Disposal Level 1 was organised by the OSCE POiD the Integrated Cooperation on Explosive Hazards Programme for some twenty participants and instructors working at the national armed forces, national mine action co-ordination authorities as well as supporting agencies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Tajikistan, in Dushanbe, 24-28 June 2019. Four participants from Ukraine took part in the regional course for the first time, as part of continuation of co-operation between OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and confirmed their participation at all Integrated Cooperation on Explosive Hazards Programme’s courses planned for 2019.
