On 13 January 2020, the project initiated a series of capacity building trainings for the staff of Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre (REHTC) of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defence. The trainings are focused on level 1 of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and conducted by two national training officers. The planned activity is carried out in premises of REHTC.
The training will be conducted until August 2020 and shall cover all aspects of EOD process; in frames of the activity, a separate training for trainers (ToT) course shall be proposed to the course participants.
The overall aim is to increase the knowledge of REHTC training officers, to enable them to conduct the first Regional EOD level 1 course by their own, in their capacity of EOD Instructors of REHTC. Starting in February 2020, the project provided advanced capacity development of staff and officers of REHTC supported by the U.S ARCENT with new training materials/manuals and training aids provided by U.S. ARCENT EOD Senior Instructors. At the end of 2020, the Office intends to institutionalize REHTC within the MoD RT in order to make the institution sustainable and self-sufficient.
